It's time people! Our last TLSS operations at Hoxton Bar - Tender Love Soundsystem is moving to a new venue next year, meanwhile, come and celebrate with us. Jimmy Edgar and Illum Sphere LIVE followed by Night Slugs' boss Bok Bok and Tender Love in full force. McDeath is working on his LED light installation from outer space as we speak, we'll make sure the backroom at Hoxton will look like never before. Damn we're excited!

Dominique Young Unique - pics from last night

Thanks to everyone who came last night to The Nest... It was crazy! We even ended up taking Dominique and the whole band for an impromptu afterparty details of which have to remain our precious secret, but one thing we can tell you - we struck a deal with Dominique's producer, so expect to hear their brand new, unreleased material in our sets soon, ahead of everyone else. It's fierce, just as you would expect it.

Meanwhile, thanks to our friend Silvio we can show you some stills from last night. We have plenty of video footage too which we'll feed to our editors and post here soon. What can we say about the performances? Yasmin with her incredibly tight band was a classy warm-up for the unstoppable, incredible Dominique Young Unique. She's got it all man! At some point we had a male dancer jumping on stage and getting low while she was rapping - completely spontaneous action which only raised the temperature in the room... Just wait for the video!

And gee... it was HOT at The Nest, the bare, intimate interior of the club was a perfect setting for the Tampa Bay teenage rapstress. She's one to watch for sure, with a brand new single coming out early next year expect more brilliance - and more badness. You'll hear it sooner than you think - we're totally taking new songs for a spin in January, can't wait to see your reaction... Big up the new golden ghetto queen. Word!

New residencies + video edit with Matias Aguayo & Band

Last week we played at packed In Our Blood event alongside Fantastic Mr. Fox and Brooklyn based art-band Men at Electrowerkz. This week, apart from playing a private party at Electricty Showrooms tonight, we're back at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen for another Saturday night takeover.

We're also launching two brand new residencies at Wenlock & Essex in Islington (every 3rd Saturday of the month) and Electricty Showrooms (every last Saturday), which we are really excited about - check out the lightbox dancefloors in both venues, complimented with a full-mirror ceiling at Wenlock. Impressive.

Jimmy Edgar (LIVE AV / !K7)

Lover. Fighter. Prophet. Freak magnet. Time-traveler. Musician, photographer and designer Jimmy Edgar is a wayward star-child streaking across the cosmic dance-floor. Endowed with a supernatural feel for futuristic funk, the Detroit native has been bleeping and grinding about the Milky Way since he was a teenage humanoid. While his peers were worrying about their grades and popularity, Edgar was spinning alongside his hometown's DJ heroes and programming intricate beats that were unquestionably interplanetary communication disguised as dance music.

Jimmy Edgar's "XXX" released on !K7 just a few months ago has been our favourite record of the year so far and it seems that the hype around the man himself is now reaching climax. Justifiably so. His own blend of intergalactic funk proved to be a deadly weapon, no matter where you drop it - lethal, sexually charged and masterfully executed, almost like Prince jamming with Timbaland and Egyptian Lover, if the former two had more balls!

Tender Love is bringing Jimmy Edgar back to London for his first live UK show in six months, since his appearance in Fabric alongside Magda (m_nus) in June. This time Jimmy, who's been busy touring the US and Australia, is coming with a full audio-visual performance - UK exclusive!

L-Vis 1990 (Night Slugs)

L-Vis 1990 has been on our radars ever since his massive "United Groove" release, picked up by Diplo on his Mad Decent imprint. His latest operations include setting up Night Slugs with Bok Bok, a label which "unique music policy brings you the global gutter house and heavy bass cutting edge - whether it's funky, grime, bassline, bmore, jackin' ghetto house or dubstep". Needless to say, Night Slugs is currently one of the hottest underground dance music initiatives in UK and L-Vis 1990 has been smashing clubs all over the world. Currently on tour supporting Major Lazer and Crookers in the US and Australia, he'll be back right on time for Tender Love Soundsystem.

Illum Sphere (LIVE / Fat City)

Murky dystopian atmospheres waft through any track Illum Sphere touches, but apart from that common denominator he takes things in all directions, with a sense for hip hop swing meeting two-step rhythms or subby dubstep basses drenched in nervous beats that make him quite hard to pin down. It's the kind of music that provokes reviewers to rattle of a list of comparisons that look like a particularly adventurous best-of shopping list. Apart from his remix work and his releases on Fat City, he's busy running the Hoya:Hoya club night in Manchester, giving forward thinking minds like himself a welcoming home in the city. (RBMA)

Rebolledo and Braiden at Moustache Bar!

Our friends at Huntleys & Palmers launched a tidy new website (www.huntleyspalmers.com) and to celebrate this Saturday they invited Rebolledo and Braiden to Moustache Bar. Rebolledo needs no introduction to all the people that came to see our TLLS show in July with Matias Aguayo. Definitely the fiercest operator on the Comeme imprint, one of the highlights of the recent SMS festival in Croatia. Braiden is our long-time friend and collaborator known for his technically peerless sets and refined musical taste.

This stuff is untouchable

Boom!

Just came back from Boom Festival - think European version of Burning Man but with a beautiful lake and better music - where the likes of Marcel Dettmann, Minilogue, Untold, Ramadanman and Murcof were providing soundtrack to one of the most magical festival experiences you can imagine. Think ecstasy, LSD, beautiful people and unconditional love.

Now I feel the inevitable "Boom blues" and the reality slowly creeps in as I reach to my wardrobe for a waterproof jacket after two weeks of running topless between the banging music stages and the lake. While trying to re-adjust to British weather I managed to dig out some videos that brought back the precious memories of recent past (and acid flashbacks)...



Yeah, Teengirl Fantasy nailed down that feeling pretty well, but so did John Hillcoat ("The Road", anyone?) with this beautiful video for UNKLE:



And last but not least - Aaron Kuffner's Gamelatron, a monstrous musical instrument planted in the heart of Boom Festival, producing some of the most enchanting sounds I have ever heard, perfect for a slow-burning chill-out after a day packed with action...

Last night was a blast and even though playing in the heart of Shoreditch on a Saturday night might be a bit tricky - we managed to push it a lot towards the leftfield, despite a few pleasant compromises. Thanks to the amazing staff at Hoxton Bar. Watch this space!

Every first Saturday of the month we'll be cooking up a lethal mixture of contemporary beats music with rare selections stretching from vintage boogie funk to avant-pop and future garage, sexually explicit content guaranteed.

Kick off 8pm and it's going until 2 in the morning, free entry all night long!
